An early morning shooting involving South Florida police officers sent two people to the hospital Friday.

Officers from Miami-Dade and Hialeah Police Departments responded to the scene in a warehouse district near Northwest 29th Court and 76th Street shortly after 2 a.m.

Hialeah Police say officers returned fire after the two armed suspects, who were wanted for several armed robberies in the area, began shooting.

Both men were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital, but officials have not released information on their conditions. Investigators have not released any information on if any officers were hurt in the incident or other details.
