Amber Alert issued for 11-year-old girl feared taken by convicted felon

An Amber Alert’s been issued for a 11-year-old Makayla Fisher of Apopka, who might be with a 50-year-old convicted felon.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s alert says Makayla, five-foot-four and 130 pounds with maroon braids, was last seen wearing a multicolored tank top nightgown.

The alert names Darrell Mills, six-foot-one, 200 pounds, as the lead suspect. Mills lives in the 1400 block of Elderton Drive in Apopka, the same block in which Makayla was last seen.

Mills earned most of his seven prison sentences over the last 28 years with various forms of grand theft auto and fleeing law enforcement. Though his non-prison address is in Apopka, he has many relatives 20 miles away in Tavares.

Anyone with information on Makayla’s whereabouts can call 911 or the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 407-836-4357.
