Police have made an arrest in an early Saturday morning hit and run in Homestead that sent one woman to the hospital.

Officers charged 28-year-old Jenifer Arroyo with one count of attempted murder causing injury. Arroyo is being held on $7,500 bond.

According to Homestead Police, officers received a call around 3 a.m. of a woman with serious injuries to her legs in the Boardwalk community near NE 6th Avenue.

The victim was airlifted to an area hospital, but is expected to be okay after undergoing surgery.

Arroyo was arrested hours later and booked into jail. Investigators have not said if alcohol was a factor.
