Inspired by Mary-Joan Gerson’s book, “How Night Came From The Sea,” Brazzdance choreographer Augusto Soledade uses contrasting movements to narrate this afro-brazilian folktale. And in a different creative piece, Soledade refelcts on marginalization and social tension via a contemporary dance performance.

We caught up with the artst and his dancers during their rehearsals at the ‘African Heritage Cultural Arts Center’ in Miami.
