Doral’s traffic can make drivers want to pull their hair out at almost any time of day. It’s infamous for its narrow roads and wide tractor trailers, and the fumes carried by the wind as bumper-to-bumper traffic snarls city streets.

But which street is the worst? Doral officials recently started compiling statistics on the city’s busiest intersections, both those in the heart of the city and those on its perimeter. Can you guess which intersections are the busiest?

No.1 Northwest 87th Avenue and 36th Street was the busiest street in Doral in the last three months

Coming in at No. 1 for interior intersections is Northwest 87th Avenue and 36th Street. In three months, April through June, more than 2.6 million cars passed through the intersection.

In second place? Northwest 41st Street and 97th Avenue, bringing in about 1.6 million drivers. Northwest 25th Street and 97th Avenue saw about 1.5 million vehicles.

As far as perimeter intersections — located at the edge of the city — the busiest is Northwest 12th Street and 107th Avenue, right off Dolphin Expressway.

No. 2 is Northwest 87th Avenue and 12th Street, near Walmart and the 836 and 826 highway ramps. In third place is Northwest 79th Avenue and 36th Street near the Palmetto.

In the month of June, Doral calculated that more than 9.5 million drivers commuted in and out of the city — a daily average of 202,362. About 60 percent of the congestion was created by drivers exiting Doral city limits.
