It’s time to dig out those sweaters for a few more days, South Florida – as the latest cold front to hit the area is bringing temperatures well below average for this time of the year.

Tuesday morning saw morning temps in the low to mid 50s across the area, including 51 degrees reported in Kendall and 52 degrees in areas like Pembroke Pines, Oakland Park and Opa-locka. High temperatures are expected to reach just 72 degrees, nearly 10 degrees below the average for this date.

That temperature range is expected to stay in South Florida for the rest of the work week, with a very low chance of rain while high winds will take over the area as a small craft advisory remains in effect through Tuesday night with seas possibly hitting nine feet at points in the day.

By the weekend, high temperatures will return to the low 80s before warming up to an expected high of 87 degrees on Monday.
