Miami Fire Rescue crews saved a construction worker who was left dangling on the side of a building at Miami Dade College’s Interamerican Campus Monday morning after his scaffolding began to collapse.
The worker, who was strapped in his safety harness, was working on the side of Building Six, on the campus at 627 SW 27th Ave. in Little Havana.
When crews arrived, they found the man dangling about 40 feet off the ground. Firefighters went to the roof, and with the help of a ladder truck, they brought him down.
The worker told rescuers the scaffold malfunctioned and started to slide down the side of the building. Another worker was strapped to the scaffold and was able to make it down safely.
The man who was rescued did not suffer any injuries, according to fire rescue.
