creole choir of cuba

A month-long celebration of contemporary Cuban music and culture. In Miami we caught up with a group of singers whose songs of lament and resistance blend harmoniously with topics of faith and social change. They call themselves “Grupo Vocal Desandann,: but to the rest of the world, they’re known as “The Creole Choir of Cuba.”

Singing in Creole, Spanish and English, the choir now celebrates the history of their Haitian ancestry and audiences around the world.
