Deputy-Involved Shooting in Dania Beach Leaves One Suspect Dead

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating a fatal police-involved shooting that took place in Dania Beach late Friday night.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies were searching for a domestic disturbance suspect after receiving reports of shots fired in the area of Sterling Road and North 31st Avenue.

When the officers found the suspect, they claim he opened fire on them, and police shot back.

The suspect sustained a gun shot wound and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

All the officers involved have been put on administrative assignments, and FDLE is investigating the case.
