Driver Killed After Car Slams Into Pole on Red Road: FHP

A driver was killed after his car slammed into a pole on Red Road in Northwest Miami-Dade early Friday.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said the car was traveling north on Northwest 57th Avenue when it struck a Department of Transportation sign pole near the Florida’s Turnpike.

Footage from the scene showed the car completely destroyed. The driver, whose identity wasn’t released, was declared dead at the scene. Officials said he is an adult and was the only one in the car at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
