Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and SWAT were called to the scene of a shooting in Weston Saturday morning and are investigating what they are calling a murder and attempted suicide.
The pair appear to be a father and a son. The father is dead.
BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said detectives received a call of a shooting at 8:39 a.m. in the 3200 block of Islewood Avenue in Weston.
“It appears a son shot his father,” she said in an email. “The shooter remained inside the home.”
When officers and the SWAT team arrived they found a man dead inside the home. Another adult male — believed to be his son — was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The wounded male was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where he’s receiving medical treatment.
