FBI Impersonators Sought in Miami Lakes Home Invasion Robbery

Authorities are searching for a pair FBI impersonators who were caught on camera during a home invasion robbery in Miami Lakes last month.

The incident happened around noon on Jan. 30 at a home in the 15000 block of Northwest 87th Court, Miami-Dade Police said.

Police said two men arrived at a home in a white Chevy Silverado with a covered license plate and knocked on the door. A man who answered the door noticed one of the men was wearing a bulletproof vest with “FBI” on it, police said.

The suspects took the man and a woman who was also in the home to a bathroom and told them to stay inside. The victims left the bathroom a short time later and discovered that the suspects had fled.

Surveillance cameras showed the suspects leaving the home with multiple duffel bags. Police said they took about $30,000 worth of jewelry and sports memorabilia. The victims weren’t injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
