A 6-year-old girl was ejected from a red Toyota SUV Thursday during a rollover crash at a busy intersection in Lauderhill.
A black car was traveling north on State Road 7 and was turning west onto Northwest 16th Street when it collided with the southbound SUV at about 7:52 a.m., Lauderhill Police Lt. Michael Santiago said.
The site is just north of the Lauderhill Mall. The SUV was being driving by a woman and five children who were related to her in some way, Santiago said.
One child was not injured, and a parent arrived to pick that child up after the crash, according to police.
Everybody else who had been in the SUV was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fire Rescue Capt. Jerry Gonzalez said.
There was no information immediately available about the driver of the black car; Santiago said there was no report of injuries for that vehicle and there were no fatalities from the crash. The child who was ejected was in serious condition when paramedics took her to the hospital, Gonzalez said.
