Heavy rain has caused flooding in some Broward County neighborhoods, including in Davie, which creates possibly dangerous conditions.

NBC 6 reporter Johnny Archer was in the area of State Road 84 and SW 133rd Avenue in Davie, where floodwaters nearly reached his knees.

Law enforcement is urging residents and motorists not to enter floodwaters – “turn around, don’t drown.”

Rainfall on Thursday since 7 a.m. until about 5 p.m. in Coral Springs was about 2.8 inches; 1.69 inches in Davie; and 1.44 inches in Sawgrass Mills mall.
