Woman Says $12,000 Worth of Jewelry Went Missing At Popular Jewelry Retailer

In July, Requitta East dropped off two wedding rings for service at a well-known jewelry retailer. Two weeks later, she went to the Kay Jewelers in Illinois to pick up one of the pieces. But she was in for an unpleasant surprise.

“I get there, it’s a completely different ring,” she said. “Anybody can see that that’s not my ring. And that’s really what kinda made me feel like maybe somebody’s trying to pull the wool over my eyes.”

She left the store that day without her wedding ring or her mother’s, the second ring she had taken in for service. A total of $12,000 of missing jewelry.

East shared her experience on social media, where it turned out she wasn’t the only unhappy Kay customer. Click here for the full story.

Carnival Announces Roller Coaster on New Cruise Ship From Florida

Cruise ships seem to have everything nowadays: Zip lines, laser tag, bionic bars, high-speed slides.

You can now add “roller coaster” to that list.

Carnival Cruise Line has announced plans to launch the first cruise ship with a roller coaster on board. The company announced Thursday that BOLT will circle the top of a new ship, Mardi Gras, when it sets sail in 2020. The all-electric coaster will travel nearly 40 mph and take riders on a series of twists, turns and drops. Click here for the full story.

The Clever Message Behind the Cuban Bread Graduation Cap

With a sense of humor and a lot of love for her culture, a 22-year-old recent Florida International University graduate came up with a clever way to decorate a graduation cap that you probably will see only in Miami.

Ana Gonzalez’s “Let’s Get This Cuban Bread” cap — complete with a loaf of Cuban bread glued on top — turned heads at an FIU commencement ceremony Sunday. The phrase is a play on “let’s get this bread,” a slang expression for earning money.

Cold-Stunned Turtles Flown From New England to Florida Keys

Officials say 32 cold-stunned Kemp’s ridley sea turtles rescued off New England’s coast have arrived in the Florida Keys to warm up at the Turtle Hospital.

Hospital officials say several of the turtles suffer from compromised immune systems and pneumonia as a result of “cold stunning,” a hypothermic reaction that occurs when turtles are exposed to cold water for prolonged periods.
