ISSUES: City of Miami Commissioner-Elect Ken Russell

When it comes to elections in Florida, things are never easy, and the recent City of Miami District 2 election was no different – in fact, it was unprecedented.

After coming in a distant second to businessman Ken Russell in the primary, Teresa Sarnoff, wife of out-going Commissioner Marc Sarnoff, announced she would withdraw from the race, though a run-off election would still need to take place by charter. Nonetheless, City of Miami residents came out to the polls, resulting in 2,700 votes for Russell, solidifying his win. The commissioner-elect joins Helen to discuss his plans for District 2 which includes solving transportation woes and preserving open, green spaces.
