ISSUES: Holding Government Accountable

In a 2015 poll, The Pew Research Center found that only 1 in 5 American’s said they trust the government “always or most of the time”. This distrust of government does not only affect government at a national level – but it is felt at the local level as well. That’s why Miami-Dade County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava proposed legislation to create a Charter Review Task Force to hold the county accountable, while making it easier for the public to get involved in meaningful change. The commissioner joins us to discuss the progress of this legislation, as well as the status of legislation aimed at unleashing “the economic power of women.”
