ISSUES: Prosecuting Social Media Threats?

This week, the U.S. Supreme Court was tasked with drawing the distinction between illegal threats made on social media and violent speech – which is protected by the first amendment. Previous Supreme Court rulings have said the government can prohibit such threats but, what those threats are, has never been clearly defined. How should the courts prosecute threats made on social media?
