ISSUES: Tim Canova for Congress

For the first time in her lengthy political career, Debbie Wassermann Schultz has a challenger, and a formidable one at that. Law professor Tim Canova, who calls the 6-term congresswoman the “quintessential corporate machine politician”, has raised more than half a million dollars in campaign contributions in just the first three months of 2016- from over 15,000 individual donations. This is a huge sum, particularly for a relative political newcomer. But this isn’t just any political race – the outcome has nationally reaching implications, with the Huffington Post calling it “a test of whether progressive ideas or corporate money are more central to the Democratic Party’s future”.
