A family is pleading for the return of their dog after thieves broke into their Miami home and stole $10,000 worth of items, including the beloved pet.

It happened at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area off SW 17th Avenue and 14th Terrace.

Vanessa Beltran said the thieves were at the house for about half an hour and ransacked the house, stealing a laptop, two TVs, two tablets, a gaming system and some jewelry.

But the most important thing they stole was the family’s 9-year-old Yorkie named Shubi.

“…She was having dehydration issues, if she’s not hydrated right now, who knows what’s happening,” Beltran said. “So it’s crucial, crucial that we get her back.”

Shubi weighs about 10 pounds, is tri-colored and has a dime-sized birthmark on her belly. She was is spayed and chipped and was last seen wearing a red collar with paw prints and tags.

Anyone who has seen Shubi should call 305-898-7619. The family is offering a $500 reward for her return.
