Miami Beach officers took a man into custody after an early morning attack on customers inside of a donut shop.

Crews arrived at the scene of the Dunkin Donuts located at 341 Washington Avenue just after 5:30 a.m. after reports that the subject struck an elderly victim before getting into an altercation with another man and the original victim, according to Miami Beach Police.

The alleged attacker fled the scene and was found on the rooftop of a nearby business, where he was taken into custody. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment, but their conditions are unknown at this time.

One of the men inside, Michael Lefkowitz, said the man approached him and asked a question before hitting him with an object. Lefkowitz said he was wearing his yarmulke at the time, as were several other men seen being treated at the scene.

“I’ll be back,” said Lefkowitz. “We will not coerced not to do what we normally do.”
