A Hialeah man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly pretending to be an officer – after pulling over an actual Miami Police Department official.

Police say 46-year-old Milton Morales-Perez was driving along Southwest 7th Avenue near 13th Street when he pulled next to a black Ford Taurus. That car was being driven by MPD’s Public Information Officer, Kenia Fallat.

Morales-Perez, according to the police report, flashed a silver badge while identifying himself as police in Spanish and telling Fallat – who was in her full police uniform – to hang up her phone and stop the car.

Fallat called for another officer to come to the scene and Morales-Perez was arrested. He told officers that had a badge because he is a security guard and stopped the officer because “she was on the phone, and it is very dangerous to be on the phone while driving.”
