Man Wanted in Murder of Woman in Margate Arrested: Police

A suspect wanted in connection with the killing of a woman in Margate was taken into custody in Fort Lauderdale early Thursday, authorities said.

Lance Symanek, 37, was spotted in the victim’s vehicle by an officer shortly before 3 a.m. and taken into custody without incident, police said.

An arrest warrant had been issued for Symanek after a woman was killed inside a home on Pinewalk Drive North Tuesday night. Police haven’t said how the woman was killed or released her name.

Authorities said Symanek knew the victim, and said the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

Broward County jail records showed Symanek was being held without bond Thursday on a premeditated murder charge. Attorney information wasn’t available.
