Miami-Dade Cop Seen Beating Daughter in Video Gets Probation

A Miami-Dade police officer who was charged with child abuse after he was seen on video beating his daughter at her school has been sentenced to probation.

Officer Raymond Rosario pleaded no contest to the charge at a hearing Thursday, where he was given a year of probation.

Rosario turned himself in after video surfaced of the March 19 incident at Pinecrest Cove Preparatory Academy that showed him grabbing his 14-year-old daughter by the hair, hitting her with a belt and punching her in the face, according to a police report.

Police say Rosario was called to the school after a teacher complained that his daughter had been disrespectful. The officer allegedly asked for his daughter to be brought to the office, where the incident took place.
