Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz became enraged last November after misplacing a photograph of his recently deceased mother and went on a violent tirade, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report, posted on the Local 10 News website.

Cruz was staying at the Lantana home of Rock Deschamps, a friend of Cruz’s mother. On November 29 at 3:11 p.m., he began punching walls and breaking items inside the house, according to the offense report. When Deschamps approached Cruz in an attempt to calm him down, Cruz punched him in the jaw, according to the report.

Deschamps told police that he punched Cruz back in self-defense and restrained him but Cruz broke away and ran out of the house. Deputies found Cruz at a neighborhood park and Cruz apologized for his outburst.
