A judge handed down a no bond ruling to the suspect accused of fatally stabbing a man outside of a liquor store on Bird Road in Miami allegedly because he owed him $40 for cocaine.
Noel Perez, 33, who was booked on Tuesday, is accused of stabbing Raul Beatriz outside of the Cartel Bar & Liquors store located in the West Bird Plaza on April 25.
An informant told police that Perez told him he killed Beatriz because he owed him $40 for cocaine.
Another suspect, Edwin Mirr, was arrested in July. He is facing second-degree murder charges. Mirr was in the car that Perez got into and fled the scene after the stabbing, police said.
Perez is jailed at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center
“There’s no bond, pursuant to the warrant. I’m going to impose no bond,” Judge Mindy S. Glazer said during court.
Glazer suggested that Perez may speak to his lawyer about finding another way to be released amid court proceedings, as there is no hold on his bond.
