Officer Hospitalized After Hit and Run Incident in Miramar

A police officer was rushed to the hospital after reportedly being injured during a hit and run incident early Friday morning in Miramar.

Officials say the male officer was trying to conduct a stop when he was run over by a teenager near the 6200 block of Miramar Parkway and he was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital with injuries to both legs.

Officials have not released the identity of the officer or his condition, adding that the teen was driving either a Jeep Grand Cherokee or a gray Dodge Journey.
