Two Miami-Dade Police officers were rushed to the hospital after an overnight crash that killed the driver of another vehicle.

Crews responded to the scene near SW 260th Street and 147th Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Officials have not released details on the crash, but did confirm that both officers inside the police car – the 32 year old driver who was ejected from the vehicle and the 25 year old passenger – were airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center. Neither was wearing a seatbelt, according to officials.

The driver of the second vehicle was trapped in their car and pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released their identity.

The area just west of U.S. 1 remains closed as police continue their investigation.
