A man in Pembroke Pines fatally shot three members of his family and injured a child, according to police.

Police said the deadly incident was first reported at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. The child, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, appears to be the only survivor at the home.

PPPD officers and fire department crews were en route to a report of a suspicious incident on the 1600 block of Southwest 156th Avenue.

“As police officers responded to the residence, 911 operators upgraded the call and provided information that a male subject murdered family members and intended to end his own life,” police said in a statement. “When police officers arrived, a rapid action team was immediately assembled and first responders entered the home. A preliminary investigation revealed multiple deceased victims, seemingly from gunshot wounds.”

The identities of the deceased and the suspect have not yet been released.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the Pembroke Pines Police Department at 954-431-2200 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
