While searching for the suspect involved in a shooting at a Pompano Beach karaoke bar Saturday morning, police say the driver of a Jeep fled from officers, lost control and struck a home.

Around 5:20 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting and stabbing at Singers Karaoke Klub, 3521 NW 8 Ave., in Pompano Beach. The two victims were transported to Broward Health North. Their condition is unknown.

According to Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies were on the lookout for a vehicle seen fleeing the bar. Authorities say a deputy spotted the vehicle and the suspect bailing out of the car near Northwest 8th Street and 4th Avenue.

As deputies were trying to locate the suspect, a silver Jeep sped away from the area. When deputies attempted to stop the Jeep, the driver fled, according to BSO.

The driver of the Jeep then lost control and crashed into single family home located at Northeast 2nd Avenue and 23 Street. The collision caused both the vehicle and home to catch fire.

Police detained driver of the vehicle.

It is unknown why the driver of the Jeep fled or if he had any involvement in the prior incident.
