Shortly before 8:40 p.m., a man was walking on Northeast Sixth Avenue, in or near a crosswalk, near Commercial Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Joy Oglesby.

Oglesby says the vehicle didn’t stop and continued driving west on Commercial Boulevard.

The pedestrian was transported to Broward Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities believe the vehicle may be light in color and has damage to its front bumper, hood and windshield.
