A 911 call reporting a disturbance in a Lauderdale Lakes neighborhood led to a deputy-involved shooting Wednesday afternoon, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to 3610 NW 21st St. at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday after the call came into the regional communications center, BSO said.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting that left a man wounded. The man was taken to an area hospital, and his condition was not known.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate.

This came only hours after a fatal police-involved shooting in Coral Springs.

Also Wednesday, a Miami-Dade police officer was injured in a gunfight at a Liberty City Walmart that left a suspected shoplifter dead.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated as information becomes available.
