A man suspected along with three others, including the former owner of Miami’s Presidente Supermarkets chain, of murder related to a love triangle faced a judge on Monday.
Roberto Issac, a fight trainer and promoter; Alexis Vila-Perdomo, a former mixed martial artist; Ariel Gandulla, a former mixed martial artist; and Manuel Marin, who helped establish Presidente Supermarkets, are accused in the June 2011 murder plot that killed Camilo Salazar – the former secret lover of Marin’s wife, Jenny Marin.
On Monday, Miami-Dade criminal court judge Martin Zilbert ruled Issac will remain behind bars.
Isaac was previously convicted of 21 bank robberies and served five years in a federal prison under a plea agreement.
“Based upon the previous crime of Mr. Issac, I find that there is a danger to the community if Mr. Issac was to be released,” Zilbert said.
Issac and Vila Perdomo turned themselves in, while it is believed Gandulla and Marin both fled the country.
