Authorities are searching for a man behind an armed home invasion in North Lauderdale last week.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. on December 7, when a woman heard a man knocking on her door repeatedly, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said.

The woman told him he had the wrong home but when he kept knocking, she opened the door and he put a gun to her head, officials said. The man forced her into her bedroom and made her lay on the ground while he searched for valuables. After several moments, the suspect fled with some of her belongings.

Authorities on Tuesday released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as a tall male with bumps on his face, with a dark complexion and a heavy Jamaican accent.

A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
