Broward Superintendent Robert Runcie, leaders from the Broward Teachers Union and other community members will gather in Tamarac Saturday to protest arming teachers in the wake of the Parkland school shooting. 

Politicians are also expected to participate in the event, including Mike Ryan, mayor of Sunrise, and Beam Furr, mayor of Broward County.

The protest is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. Students and parents from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — the site of the mass shooting that took 17 lives on Feb. 14 — will also be in attendence.
