Teen Shot Twice While Sleeping Inside Little Havana Home

A teen was rushed to the hospital after being shot while sleeping inside his Little Havana home overnight.

Officers arrived at the scene near NW 12th Avenue and 4th Street shortly after 2 a.m. after reports of shots being fired. The 13-year-old was hit twice while sleeping in his bed, with wounds to his foot and shoulder.

The victim was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center, where his condition is unknown at this time. Officials continue their search for the suspect while not confirming if the house was the intended target or if it was struck by stray bullets from a possible drive-by shooting.
