Three male teenagers were taken to a hospital after their car crashed into a tree Tuesday morning, Miramar authorities said.

Police responded to the scene of a crash shortly before 10 a.m. near the intersection of Dykes Road and Bass Creek Road, said Miramar Fire Rescue spokesman José Gregorisch. The crash occurred after the vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree, Miramar police spokeswoman Tania Rues said.

One of the teenagers was trapped in the car by the crash, but Miramar Fire Rescue was able to free him, Gregorisch said.

All three teenagers were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in stable condition: two airlifted by a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue helicopter and the third transported by the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Gregorisch said.

Rues said the three teenagers were in high school.

Traffic at the intersection of Dykes and Bass Creek roads is closed off while police are investigating the crash.
