The Coconut Creek Police Department said two people were killed and an officer was injured in a shooting involving a SWAT team on Saturday.

The shooting occurred at the 4200 block of Northwest 57th Drive in Coconut Creek.

The suspect is in custody. Two people, including the officer, were hospitalized.

The officer, who is concious, was transported to North Broward Hospital.

The identity of those killed has not yet been released.

A resident who was near the scene said that he’s been living in that area for nearly three weeks. He said he thought it was a quiet area.

“I guess nowhere is safe anymore,” Robert Robinson said.
