Woman Tried to Kidnap Boy From Design District Gallery: Miami Police

Police are searching for a woman who they say tried to kidnap a 6-year-old boy from an art gallery in Miami’s Design District.

The incident happened the afternoon of March 4 at Swampspace Gallery at 3940 N. Miami Avenue, Miami Police said. The boy normally goes to the gallery to spend time with the owner and the owner’s daughter, police said.

According to police, the woman entered the gallery through an open rear door, and the owner, who didn’t know her, asked her to leave the premises. As she left, she grabbed the boy by the arm and walked away with him.

The owner wasn’t sure if the woman was related to the boy, so the owner ran out and confronted the woman and was able to grab the boy and bring him back to the gallery. The woman walked away from the scene.
