This week state lawmakers approved a sweeping school safety bill that includes some new gun control measures, millions for more mental health services, and additional funding for increased school safety measures. The bill includes some controversial language that would give some school employees the option to take part what is called a “Marshall Program” – where they would be trained and allowed to carry a firearm on campus. We also learn why he’s seeking an independent review of the shooter’s education background, and hear how the district is trying to move forward.
